Epicycloid creates beautiful animated patterns by visualizing real powers of unit complex numbers. In elementary terms, imagine drawing several lines of varying colors, each having one endpoint fixed at some angle on a circle while the other endpoint sweeps around the circle at a speed proportional to the anchoring angle.
